The COLLECTanDRAIN Model 5400 auxiliary drain features a temperature-controlled cabinet to deter system failure due to freezing condensation in a dry fire sprinkler system. The heated and insulated cabinet contains an auxiliary drain with a float switch to monitor water levels and can be wired to a fire panel or BMS for remote notification. Options include galvanized or black pipe, hot operation trouble (HOT) monitor, and remote dialer. The all-weather cover (Model 5580A) is recommended when the unit is installed outside and subject to the elements.
Model 5400A features a galvanized piping components while the 5400B has black steel pipe components.
Model 5400D includes the auto dialer that calls a programmed number when the float switch senses that the drain is full and needs serviced. The remote dialer can be programmed to alert multiple phone numbers. Upon connection, a 16-second, personalized message repeats for one minute.
Model 5400H features a hot operation trouble (HOT) monitor that tracks the heaters cycles and sends notification if there is a problem. The Hot Operation Trouble (HOT) monitor tracks the heater's on/off cycles and compares that information against its own internal thermostat to make sure the heater is performing correctly. For example, if the cabinet door is accidentally left open causing the heater to run continuously, the HOT monitor will trip the local audible and visual alarms and alert the fire control panel. It will also trigger a notification if it detects that the heater is not operating enough to keep the interior temperature safely above freezing.
