The AGF InspectorsTEST Model 3011 valve is designed to be placed on both wet and dry systems to facilitate the required NFPA testing. On wet pipe systems, the Inspector's test connection should be located at the end of the most remote branch line on the upper story. The orifice of the 3011 should be equal to the smallest K-factor installed on the system. Testing can then determine if the flow from one sprinkler head is enough to sound an alarm. (16.14.1)
On dry pipe systems, AGF's Inspector'sTEST is also placed on the end of the most distant line in the upper story. In this application, the Inspector'sTEST is used as a trip test to time water delivery from the dry valve. (16.14.2) The valve should be located in an accessible location not over 7 feet and not subject to freezing.
Due to the placement requirements, AGF does not recommend using inspector's test connections for removing trapped air. A significant amount of trapped air will still remain in the system and cause corrosion. Please consider utilizing PURGEnVENT to remove trapped air.
The Pressure Relief A kit fulfills the NFPA 13 requirement for a pressure relief valve on all gridded systems and downstream of all pressure-reducing valves (16.9.8.3)
